"..though I was expecting a comedy I was treated to something better, something more deft, taut as a tendon, gritty and very endearing."

CTX Live Theatre

“In this staging by Robert Tolaro, an experienced cast really digs up the characters' buried attitudes with fervent conviction…”

Austin Chronicle

"(Director Robert) Tolaro has brought together a fine and natural cast for an intimate look at a family we can all understand."

"It's refreshing really, to see actors who aren't 'acting' when, with a script like this, there's an open invitation to chew the scenery."

Broadway World

“As one might expect, the success of a play like this relies largely on the cast. Director Robert Tolaro’s faith in his cast pays off, as all the performances are strong, and some are quite staggering.”

Austin-American Statesman

“Emotionally potent and strikingly beautiful, THE HERD is not one to miss.”
