We are storytellers. That is what we do. Our mission is to tell stories that inspire thought and conversation, that illuminate the human condition, that lift your spirit. Our goal is to present the highest quality theatrical product on stage, utilizing the best and brightest talent available in the Austin theatre community.
Since 2015 we have been recognized for our work with awards and award nominations from groups including Broadway World Austin, Central Texas Excellence in Theatre Awards, the B. Iden Payne Committee, and the Austin Critics Table. Critical reviews have been uniformly positive across the board for each of our productions, and our patrons are among the most loyal in Austin.
It has been our objective since day one to mentor aspiring young theatre students. Toward that end we have employed students from St. Edward's University, Texas State University, the University of Texas, Austin Community College, Huntington-Surrey Prep School, Round Rock High School and Cedar Ridge High School in paid positions as actors and/or part of our production staff.

DAVID R. JARROTT, PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
David has been involved in making theatre for over 65 years, beginning with a cameo role at the San Antonio Little Theatre at age 10. He has appeared in theatres all over Texas, although most of his work has been on Austin stages. David has appeared in productions locally at ZACH Theatre, The Bijuberti Players, Austin Shakespeare, The Public Domain Theatre Company, Austin Playhouse, St. Edward’s University, the University of Texas, Center Stage, The Company and others. For nearly 40 years his day jobs were in radio and television as well as in advertising, where he won numerous local, state, national and international awards as a writer and producer. In 2011 he was elected by his peers to the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.
He created Jarrott Productions in 2015 because, even though Austin has well over 100 theatre companies, he felt the audience for contemporary plays written in traditional form was being underserved. There are many extremely good productions of musical theatre, Shakespeare, American and other classics, and the avante garde being done by theatre companies every week in the Austin area. However, there are not many productions of late 20th/early 21st century comedies and dramas that deal with themes of love and redemption, forgiveness and reconciliation, and what playwright Rory Kinnear calls “the irresistible pull of family.”
WILL GIBSON DOUGLAS*, MANAGING DIRECTOR
Will is an Austin-based, award-nominated actor and director who has lived in the city since 2010. His relationship with Jarrott Productions started in 2018, when he starred as Jordan in their production of Joshua Harmon's SIGNIFICANT OTHER, for which he was nominated for B. Iden Payne and Austin Critics Table awards. He has worked on numerous other Jarrott Productions shows since, first as a production assistant and then as House Manager/Volunteer Coordinator and more recently, director and producer. He is also a company member at The VORTEX, where he most recently directed the "Cyclops" segment of The VORTEX Odyssey and has appeared in CLICK (Chaz) and THE TEMPEST (Stephano). As a director he most recently directed JP's THE PACT and was nominated for a B. Iden Payne Award for Different Stages' production of George Bernard Shaw's HEARTBREAK HOUSE. He also received a B. Iden Payne Nomination for his leading role in JP's THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT. He frequently appears in Different Stages productions such as THE BOOK CLUB PLAY, GREAT EXPECTATIONS (B. Iden Payne Nomination), YANKEE TAVERN, 4000 MILES, and DRACULA. Other acting credits include: Ground Floor Theatre's world premiere of DEX & ABBY, Heartland Theatre Collective's THE VINEYARD, Capital T Theatre's DNA and many more.
NATALIE D. GARCIA*, COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Natalie came to Austin from Chicago in 2016. During her tenure in Chicago she worked as an actor with Chicago Fusion Theatre, appearing in Proof (Catherine) and J.B. (Sarah) as well as serving as their Managing Director and Marketing Coordinator. Starting in 2012, she worked as a resident actor/playwright and Marketing and Casting Director for Wayward Productions, where her acting credits included Richard III (Queen Liz), and she later wrote and starred in Burn the Black Dog (Abigail). She also performed in Chicago with the Right Brain Project (RBP) as Rossignol in Marat/Sade and Claudia in Hesperia; with The Factory Theater in Street Justice: Condition Red (Sherry) and Hotel Aphrodite (Vickie Mae); and as The Maid in WildClaw Theatre’s Motel 666. You may have seen her in Street Corner Art's digital production of THE SPIN, nominated for Best Performer - Digital Live or as Midge in THE BUTCHER OF BARABOO, for which she won a B. Iden Payne Award for Best Actress in a Comedy, or around town as Fefu in FEFU AND HER FRIENDS (Filigree), Lise in THE MAGIC FIRE (Different Stages), Vanessa in SIGNIFICANT OTHER (Jarrott Productions) , or as part of the ensemble in SELF PORTRAITS (Bottle Alley Theatre). When she’s not onstage or promoting what’s onstage, she enjoys spending time with her amazing husband Carlo, and their two dogs Karate and DeeDee.
JENNIFER A. ANDERSON*, RESIDENT PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER
Jennifer is a production stage manager with over 15 years of experience in the Austin theatre community. The diversity and vibrancy of the Austin theatre scene sucked her in while interning in nonprofit business management at ZACH Theatre in 2006. Jennifer met David Jarrott at ZACH back in 2006, during the run of Shear Madness. She first stage managed with Jarrott Productions for 2018’s production of Significant Other by Joshua Harmon, then took a break from stage management to become a licensed foster parent. She returned to Jarrott Productions for 2023’s Mother of the Maid. Jennifer’s other favorite stage management credits include The Seagull and Wolf Hall with Austin Shakespeare, subbing in for Matilda! The Musical for Zilker Theatre Productions and stage managing Footloose in 2011, and the productions of The Clean House and Plays Well With Others at ZACH. Jennifer was the first assistant stage manager during Austin Opera’s productions of Flight, The Italian Girl in Algiers, La traviata, Hansel and Gretel, L’étoile, La bohéme, Dialogues des Carmélites, and Rigoletto in the 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons. Jennifer served as the Artistic Administrator for Spotlight on Opera’s summer educational program from 2009 to 2011, working with artists to foster professional development and fulfill their mission of “opera for everybody.” Jennifer was a production assistant, crew member, and house manager for over 30 productions at ZACH from 2006 to 2009. Jennifer’s day job is as the business administrator for a nonprofit that serves the emergency medical community across Texas.
CRAIG BROCK, RESIDENT SOUND DESIGNER
Craig has worked as a recording engineer and music producer since 1989, and is the resident sound designer at ZACH Theatre. At ZACH: Million Dollar Quartet; In The Heights; Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill; The Great Society; One Man, Two Guvnors; Sophisticated Ladies; Mothers and Sons; All the Way; Peter and the Starcatcher; A Christmas Carol; The King and I; The Who’s Tommy; Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; The Gospel at Colonus; A Christmas Story; Les Misérables; Rent; Metamorphoses; and many others.
