Introduction

Kelsey Mazak is the newest member of the Jarrott Productions Advisory Board and a graduate of SMU’s BFA Acting program. She has been acting in Austin for the past ten years, and audiences first saw her on our stage in Significant Other.

Additional recent credits include POTUS (Jarrott Productions), A Million More to Go (Jarrott Productions/Cinnamon Path Productions), and the world premiere of Jenna and the Whale (Ground Floor Theatre).

By day, Kelsey is a school psychologist working with middle schoolers in Leander ISD. She lives with her partner Cole and their two fur babies, Mambo and Patches.

From Kelsey

Jarrott Productions has always been a safe place for me as both an artist and a patron.

Every production is done with such care and finesse that whether I am onstage or sitting in the audience, I’m able to fully immerse myself in the world they so expertly create.

As a mental health professional, my day job can take a lot out of me emotionally and physically. I’m always so grateful when I’m able to attend a Jarrott Productions show and turn my brain off for a couple of hours. I also deeply appreciate how Jarrott Productions draws from the incredible talent in our Austin theatre community, where there is such a wide range of artists waiting for the opportunity to shine.

Jarrott Productions is also where I formed and continue to cultivate two of my closest friendships. When I was cast in Significant Other, I didn’t expect my real life and my life on stage to blur so much, but I’m so grateful they did. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Will Douglas and Natalie Garcia in my life. I’m not sure if David had a premonition that he was setting us up to be lifelong friends, but either way he profoundly changed my life for the better.

I’m also incredibly grateful to now serve on the Advisory Board. As the guard changes, I’m excited to be part of the team helping keep David’s vision at the forefront while supporting Will’s new ideas and innovations.

The future of Jarrott Productions feels incredibly bright, and I’m honored to help play a small role in it.
